Quality Control:
In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates condoms to ensure their safety and effectiveness. Since 1976, condoms have been regulated under the Medical Device Amendments to the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Within the FDA, the Center for Devices and Radiological Health is responsible for assuring the safety and effectiveness of condoms as medical devices. The FDA recognizes the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Specifications for Rubber Contraceptives (condoms) D3492-83 as a basis for the condom definition. Beginning in the spring of 1987, the FDA undertook an expanded program to inspect latex condom manufacturers, repackagers, and importers to evaluate their quality control and testing procedures.
Testing standards:
Prior to packaging, unfoiled bulk product is tested in accordance with ASTM and International Organization of Standards 4074 (ISO 4074). After packaging, samples are drawn at random, tested in accordance with Mil Std. 105E and the FDA's draft CPG 7124 (issued on 3/29/02: using .25 AQL with single and multiple sampling for waterleak testing), and inspected by in-house quality control with reference to ASTM 3492-D, 1997. The FDA's draft CPG 7124 is not yet enacted regulation, but all condoms sold are already in full compliance with this stricter standard.
Exact color match is not guaranteed. Condom Keepers are digitally printed and custom color match is not available.
Products can only be shipped in the United States.
