Imprint Colors
Spot Color Printing
Spot colors are used when only one or two solid imprint colors are needed or when an imprint color has to match perfectly and be consistent. Spot colors are available as standard colors or as PMS colors. PMS colors typically cost between $20-$50 per color, per print run. We will select standard colors unless a specific PMS color is requested.
Process Color Printing
Process color, also known as CMYK or four-color process printing, is printed from four separate printing plates. Four-color process printing uses four inks (hence the term 'four color process'): cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), to produce full color reproduction. Please be aware that when printing in the process format, spot colors must be converted to equivalent process colors because spot colors in your art file may produce a different hue once reproduced utilizing full color process.
Color Checklist
- Art should be created in the desired spot colors unless product is to be printed four-color process.
- When selecting spot colors, please choose from the standard color list for the item ordered or the Pantone Solid swatch libraries.
- Color Photoshop files must be saved in CMYK mode. Black and white photographs should be saved in GRAYSCALE mode.
- If creating CMYK process design please use process colors and not PMS spot colors.
