SENDING ARTWORK TO PRINTGLOBE
OPTION 1 - ARTWORK UPLOAD TO PRINTGLOBE MEDIA
MANAGER
PrintGlobe features an exclusive artwork upload technology, called the
"Media Manager," that enables you to either attach art files to a new
order you are placing online or store them for future usage. To create
a Media Manager account, you must first create
a FREE account. Then you will be ready to setup and add files to your
Media Manager. These files can then be retrieved by your Customer Service
representative at PrintGlobe or you can attach one or more of your uploaded
files to a new order at some point in the future.
OPTION 2 - EMAIL ARTWORK TO A REPRESENTATIVE
If you are placing an order through a PrintGlobe Customer representative,
you may instead prefer to email your artwork files to your representative
directly or utilize one of the below methods.
OPTION 3 - FTP UPLOAD
PrintGlobe has an FTP website that you may use to upload large artwork
files (10 MB+ files) for an order. The website can be accessed from any
web browser or you may wish to use FTP software, which can be downloaded
free online, to manage your file transfers. FTP software may improve the
reliability and speed of your file transfers.
If you wish to upload your artwork to our FTP website, you must first
place an order with PrintGlobe. Your Customer Service Representative will
then give you specific instructions for your FTP upload access.
OPTION 4 - SEND PRINTGLOBE A DISK
Art can be sent on standard 3-1/2" floppy disks, 100MB Zip disks, and
CD's. Such files must be accompanied by a printout of your artwork. Please
send to:
PrintGlobe, Inc.
Attn: Your Customer Service Representative
4115 Freidrich Lane, Suite 200
Austin, Texas 78744
OPTION 5 - DOWNLOAD FROM CUSTOMER WEBSITE
PrintGlobe can download your artwork files via a web address if the artwork
is no more than 30MB's and is compressed using WinZip
or Stuffit.
The URL for the artwork should be given to your Customer Service Representative.
PrintGlobe will also need a fax copy of your artwork.
ARTWORK FILE PREPARATION
As the leading online Printing and Graphics Superstore, PrintGlobe can
produce effective, print-ready artwork from almost any kind of file or
drawing given to us by our customers. We can work with a wide range of
file types, created both in Macintosh and PC. Please note however that
only professionally prepared files - created correctly in approved programs,
as described below, will avoid any additional artwork fees from PrintGlobe.
Please stuff or compress your files before you send them to PrintGlobe.
This will usually prevent your artwork files from being corrupted from
traveling through the internet. The two most popular programs for compressing
files are Stuffit
(for Mac) and Winzip
(for PC), which can be downloaded for free (evaluation versions).
When deciding what program to use for your art preparation, there is
a general rule for graphics: If the product the printing is going on isn't
flat, it has to be vector art, built in either Illustrator, In Design,
or Freehand. You should always contact the PrintGlobe Customer Service
department if you have any questions whatsoever about artwork preparation.

PDF art files work well if the PDF was created from a vector art
program, such as Adobe Illustrator. All type should get converted
to outlines, if possible, before a PDF file is created. PDF files
will be preflighted, on a case by case basis to determine the usability
of the file and any extra work that may be necessary to rebuild
the artwork. When creating a PDF, remember to include .125" on all
sides if the artwork bleeds, convert colors to CMYK or designate
a PMS number, and make sure there is no compression on the text
or graphics.
