PrintGlobe Inc. Helps Establish Internet Café in Africa to benefit Tanzanian Family

Austin, TX - PrintGlobe Inc., the leading online printing provider, has coordinated the donation of a shipment of computers and networking equipment to a young man, Samwel Yesse, and his family in the Eastern African country of Tanzania. The gift of an Internet Café was the idea of PrintGlobe founder and President Dan Steinborn, who visited the country in Feb. 2002 to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The shipment is ocean bound and will arrive in Dar es Salaam in the beginning of October.

As fate would have it, Steinborn contracted an untimely case of food poisoning after climbing two days on the world's tallest freestanding mountain. That spelled doom for his summit attempt but perhaps breathed a new life for a family in Arusha, Tanzania. While descending the mountain to the rendezvous point to be taken off the mountain, he met Samwel or Sammy, who offered him assistance. After a long conversation with the aspiring youth under the stars, Steinborn proposed the gift.

"What I realized is that what we call obsolete and scrap in the US can provide substantial economic and educational opportunities in the third world. Sammy is a special person and I hope that he can use his new resources to provide for his family, send him and his brothers to college and inject a dose of entrepreneurial opportunity into his community," says Steinborn.

Steinborn and PrintGlobe weren't alone in their donation of computers and resources. Customers, vendors and family were invited to contribute, resulting in a successful bounty of more than enough components and systems to start up a fabulous Internet Café.
